Like riding a very fast motorcycle

Andrius is in charge of our E-commerce shops and has been with us since DILLING opened its first online shop.

He is as he looks, a man who loves riding a motorcycle. This is why he is also a member of the motorcycle club ‘SIENA’ in Marijampole, Lithuania. However, when his helmet comes off, he spends all his professional hours behind a computer screen. Andrius Mickus is in charge of our E-commerce shops and has coded every single line on DILLING’s website.

Andrius was originally hired by Morten’s father, Villy, back in 2008. Villy asked him to make the website for the company.

At one point, he asked for a website which meant we could sell directly to the customers without the price-rising intermediary. I didn’t quite understand what Villy wanted, but I am not entirely certain that Villy knew himself either

Shortly after Morten Dilling came to the company, things began to move quickly. Very quickly. The entire focus moved from selling to the big chains to selling directly to the customers. In 2010, our first website opened in Germany. Since then, 5 more have been created in Denmark, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, and the UK. And more are still coming.

“It’s like sitting on a very fast motorcycle. One small moment of negligence can have major consequences. A slightly incorrect code can cause huge expense for DILLING, but also for the customers if the price or product is wrong. The constant focus is sometimes a challenge because I forget to raise my eyes and see the bigger picture. When I finally do, I am proud of our development,“ says Andrius.
