I was told I would never become anything

It can be difficult to sit across from a young man and hear him tell you about the tough times he had at school when he was always told he would never become anything. He had difficulties talking, a special education and the feeling of being different, all of this was about to ruin the future he dreamed about. Then, when you hear Benjamin enthusiastically telling us about his education as a warehouse and logistic employee, you can forget all of your concerns.

“I am very proud that I have gotten a real job. I also have a driver’s license. Therefore, I can now drive between DIILING’s warehouse and the dyehouse and do all of my jobs,“ tells Benjamin.

Benjamin’s parents are just as proud as he is. The same goes for his old elementary school. Here he is now part of the school’s “hall of fame” because he chased and fulfilled his dreams.

All in all, Benjamin is a man that likes to move on with a lot of things and ideally before everyone else. He is a team leader for the local football club’s third division, a leader of a Scout squad and he is planning on asking his boss about taking further education.

It is also difficult for Benjamin to stick to specific meeting times. He always turns up at least 15 minutes before anybody else and before the agreed time. “I like to be active all the time and I do my best when I am always just a little bit ahead.“
